  • Giant Steps – 29 April 2021

    Today’s Inspiration:

People taking big steps in their lives.

    Today’s joy:

Enjoying the first round of the draft.  I really like watching these young people moving into what’s hopefully, living out a dream and making the most of the chance.

    A past joy:

Seeing players drafted from Maryland, generally, but Baltimore, specifically.

  • Frying and Flying – 28 April 2021

    Today’s Inspiration:

    N/A

    Today’s joy:

Some really good journaling, which was good kindling for more writing down the line.  Plus, my cousins got an air fryer and I’m thrilled for them.

    A past joy:

Combining air fried turkey sausage crumbles with oatmeal was a joy all winter.

  • Rolling – In My Mind – 27 April 2021

    Today’s inspiration:

    A call to Baltimore drivers.

    Today’s joy:

Deciding to write out a quick blog post that speaks to my love of travel.

    A past joy:

My last daytrip to New York in December, 2019.  I was with family, so it was more special than most other trips, even if it was brief.  I should have insisted on getting a slice of pizza while we were up there, though.

    Today’s joy:

It’s always a joy when the O’s beat the Yankees.  It’s pretty much always a joy when the Yankees get beat by anybody at all (though I can and do remain neutral on when the Red Sox beat them).

    A past joy:

Taking the train to Atlantic City, walking around, and eating a sub at the White House Sub Shop.

    Today’s joy:

O’s and Mets completed wins within minutes of each other.

    A past joy:

Taking pictures yesterday.  I wasn’t all over the place, but in a lot of places, some good places.  And it was great to be out, but not running errands, which is what I’ve been mostly doing when I’ve been out.  It was good to be out and be creative again.

  • Above and Below the Water in Baltimore – 24 April 2021

    Today’s inspiration:

    Baltimore in the rain.

    Today’s joy:

Went out and shot some pictures, mostly of the Patapsco River in different settings.  It rained, so that made the time more enjoyable.

    A past joy:

Finding out that Harbor Hospital was a good place to take pictures.

    Today’s joy

Captain America and the Winter Soldier.

    A past joy:

Pizza from Phil’s Sub Shop.  Except for that time that they put bay leaf on my pizza.  Ick.

  • Staying in Greenbelt – 22 April 2021

    Today’s inspiration:

Being out on the road.  On the highway.

    Today’s joy:

Went out and took some pictures.  I was in Greenbelt, a place that held some very interesting memories, so I had some fun thinking about them and what I’ve written about those memories.

    A past joy:

Hanging out all over the place in Maryland and making those interesting memories.

  • Joy and More Joy – 21 April 2021

    Today’s inspiration:

The acting coach, Bonnie Gillespie, made a live stream where she talked about joy, why it’s important to focus on it, how to, etc.  I’ve been focusing on joy in these blog posts and I got motivation and tools to keep going.

    Today’s joy:

    See above.

    A past joy:

Going to the batting cage.  Though, I wish they’d had one of those larger baseball facilities nearby where players these days go and can play and practice all year round.  That would have been an even bigger joy.

  • On the Make – 20 April 2021

    Today’s inspiration:

Our creativity group met tonight, instead of last night.

    Today’s joy:

See above.  Plus, working on an update blog post to an older blog post.

    A past joy:

Making collages at church.  Long story.
